The 2007 AFFA competition was kept on the following dates:
- Nominations; Monday 21st January - Sunday 10th February
- Reading Time; Monday 11th February - Sunday 24th February
- Voting Window; Monday 25th February - Sunday 9th March
- Results posted: 11 march 2008
The competition was a great success that year.
A lot of nominations, and enough votes.
the fics which were nominated are listed on the AFFA Links page, and on the reading list.
if you want to know who won, then go to the winners list page.
A few random factoids;
There were well over 200 stories eligible for this years’ competition.
78 separate stories were nominated and accepted into the competition, from 35 individual authors.
14 people submitted nominations. Of those; only one person nominated a story for all 18 categories, two people nominated for 17 categories.
The least number of categories nominated for in any one submission was 1.
23 people submitted voting ballots.
‘Best Group’ was the only category that did not receive any ‘No Vote’ submissions.
Where it has occurred that two fics have received an equal number of votes, they are considered ‘tied’ and share equally in the placement.
Where 1st, 2nd or 3rd placements are tied, all of the stories in that particular placement did receive a certificate.
ONLY those fics that have gained either a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place did receive an award certificate.
Where authors have gained multiple eligible awards, a separate certificate was issued for each award.
Remember; this competition takes into account a wide and varied range of participants and stories. Not everyone likes the same things, thinks the same way or votes for the same reasons. Therefore, if your work did not rate as highly as you hoped please don’t take it as a slight against you personally or the quality of your writing. The day you wrote a piece that you were happy and proud enough of to share with our community, you won.
