this was the first year that we where not just limiting ourselves to Fan Fiction, Artists could now join in the fun of being nominated for an AFFA too!

- Nominations Window - Monday 19th Jan 09 to Sunday 1st Feb
- Preparation Window - Monday 2nd Feb to Sunday 8th Feb
- Reading Window - Monday 9th Feb to Sunday 22nd Feb
- Voting Window - Monday 23rd Feb to Sunday 8th March
Some stats from 2008:
there where three new categories that year.79 separate works were nominated and accepted into the AFFA competition this year, from 32 individual authors/artists.
9 people submitted valid nominations. Of those none nominated works for all 21 categories. However, 6 of those 9 took advantage of the option to nominate two works, in at least one category. The most number of nominations in any one submission was 39 (out of a possible 42). The least number of nominations in any one submission was 1.
35 people submitted valid voting ballots, 12 of those submitted votes for works in all 21 categories. Every category received at least one ‘No Vote’ submission. The least number of votes submitted on any one ballot was 3.
