About us:

The AFFA Competition

The AFFA (Adult Fan Fiction Awards) were first conceived on the adult-only board at Stealthy Stories, back in 2006. The reason we started, and continue, this competition was to give those who wrote adult fan fiction an opportunity to have their work recognized, that the already established FFA (Fan Fiction Awards) couldn't provide.

Two people volunteered to run the first AFFA competition held in January 2007, namely engelina and Reijiro. Back then it was a very small and simple affair, run entirely on the adult boards of Stealthy Stories and Mikey's. But we had such fun with it that we never looked back!

Since then, the AFFA has grown to involve many of the Live Journal and Deviant Art communities that are dedicated to TMNT adult works. And, of course, there is this website which promotes those who have achieved an AFFA nomination for their work on a permanent basis.

One of the main goals of the AFFA Staff is to run the AFFA for the adult fandom, with the adult fandom. And we look forward to running this competition together with you for many years to come.

Reijiro

G'day, Reijiro here! I have been a member of the AFFA Staff right from the very humble beginnings of the AFFA Competition back in 2006. My role on the AFFA Staff is mainly based on doing the documentation / advertising side of things, which I love to do since I love writing technical-like stuff. So most of the AFFA-related instructional text you will find on this website and on the AFFA Hosts Sites is penned by me. And yep, you can blame me for spamming your f-lists and forums each year come Competition time. XD

When I'm not working on things AFFA-related I'm a fan fiction writer. I also love getting into discussions and friendly debates over characterizations, biology, plot bunnies, and anything else that can be even remotely related to the TMNT and / or writing. I enjoy and support all genres (adult or no) in the TMNT fandom. But I appreciate the most those works that treat the turtles as family and ninja first.

Offline I've started a full-time career in Property Management (managing rentals) after stepping out of the full-time workforce for almost a decade to raise my three boys. While raising my kids I became a partner in two businesses that I continue to work for part-time; one an online grocery store I run with a couple of friends and the other a website management service I run with my very understanding husband. Before I had kids I worked as a Laboratory Technician and for a large Occupation Health and Safety firm. So it's fair to say I'm a bit of a Jack-of-all-trades.

I first discovered the TMNT in the late 1980's, when the original cartoon first aired in Australia. Shortly after that I started collecting the Archie series of comics. And then I found the Graphic Novels that collected the first 11 issues of the Mirage Volume 1 comics, and with that I was hopelessly hooked upon the TMNT for life. The Y2K cartoon just made me love 'em even more, and was responsible for me finding the online TMNT fandom back in 2005. My crowning fangirl moment however, was getting a kiss on the cheek from Kevin Eastman himself at the 2009 San Diego Comic Con.

About Engelina:

Heya! engelina here! i am a 36 year old mother of two kids (17 and 10) who likes reading and loves the tmnt. I live inthe netherlands, wich means english is not my native language. If you ever see a typo, big change its me that made it. I have had the luck to be part of the current staff since we began to keep the competition in its current format.

The first i ever saw of the turtles was the old cartoon, when i was a kid. The three movies followed, and i never forgot the turtles even if they moved to the background of my life and my mind after that. When the 2007 series where airead here i watched the first episode together with my kids, and a lot of sceptism. Not long, though, i was once again hooked short after that first episode.A few years ago i was lucky enough to find the online communities and fellow fans.

I also am the one that does all the coding for the site, the various forms, keeps the forum-code up to date, etc. so if you ever spot an error, i am the one you need to contact, since i am the one that can access the codes the easiest and fastest.

I prefer to keep my real life where it is, since things like coding, reading, etc. are what i do to relax sometimes.

About randompest:

Updated: February 18 2013

Hey, I'm known as Moo by most, I've also gone by rafella, moomixes and randompest in some places. I've been a fan of Ninja Turtles since I was about 6 or 7 and saw the first movie in theaters. I read the early mirage comics in my early teens and they've been my favorite ever since.

In fandom, I write fan fiction and do some roleplaying, I do enjoy various types of turtles fan works even though I am known to be rather picky and generally not shy about it. No worries though, I am mostly working in the background to keep the site updated, I shouldn't be doing any of the social part of the competition if it can be helped. :3

I tend to write a little bit of everything from het, slash to tcest as I get ideas and feel the nibble from my ideas. It's a slow process. I also tend to try to avoid cliche and stereotypical ideas and results when I write, it doesn't always work, but the more time I take to write something, the better it often is. Sometimes I just write one-shot smut if I'm bored though. :D

Anywho, I can't think of anything else non-personal to write here, so I'll just leave it at that and hope I can maintain the site awesomely for you guys.
